A community champion at a supermarket in Heswall has donated almost 500 easter eggs to those in needs across the Wirral community.

Lindsay Kennedy, Community Champion at Tesco Heswall has been helping to distribute the eggs to vulnerable children, care home residents, hospital staff and patients and homeless people.

The donation started with Rotary Club of Heswall reaching out to the store to contribute 125 eggs to Tesco’s upcoming donation drive.

Lindsay said: “Easter is usually a period for spending time for family, but we appreciate that this might not be possible for many in the current circumstances.

“We hope that these small acts of kindness offer a gesture of support to those in our community that may be struggling.”

Working together with The Rotary Club, Tesco doubled the number of eggs by donating 250 more to the cause.

Lindsay, alongside a representative from the Rotary Club, spent the day delivering the sweet surprises to nursing homes across the community, much to the residents’ delight.
