A charity supporting children with cerebral palsy is urging schools, businesses and individuals across Wirral to 'go green' for a special awareness and fundraising day later this month.

Stick 'n' Step’s suggestions for ways to go green on National Cerebral Palsy Day (Thursday, March 25) include dressing in green, celebrating with a green cake bake off or having fun with some green-themed crafts.

Contact Stick ‘n’ Step on fundraising@sticknstep.org to find out more about going green.

Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders affecting movement and co-ordination.

It is the most common motor disability in childhood, with one in 400 babies estimated to be born every year in the UK with some form of it.

Interim head of fundraising Samantha Lee said: "Our charity receives no government funding and we rely hugely on our wonderful local community to help us with our fundraising.

"Now, more than ever, we need help so we can continue providing life-changing support to the young people who attend our conductive education sessions and their families."

Once you have signed up you will receive a fundraising guide telling you everything you need to know about #GoGreen4CP, a sponsorship form if you need one and a poster to share what you are doing and when. If you wish to make a donation you can text to donate on SNSGREEN £5.

Stick 'n' Step offers support services to children with cerebral palsy and their families.

The charity provides the children with totally free of charge conductive education sessions, allowing them to gain the skills they need to live more independent lives.

More than 100 children from across the region usually attend these sessions weekly or twice weekly at the charity's Wallasey and Runcorn centres.
