NO further deaths with coronavirus has been recorded at Wirral hospitals, NHS England has confirmed.

It means the total number of patients who have died with covid-19 at Wirral University Teaching Hospital - which runs Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge - since the pandemic began, stands at 596.

Nationally, a further 178 people who tested positive for the virus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 81,482.

Patients were aged between 25 and 101 years old. All except seven (aged 47 to 97 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from January 2 to Sunday with the majority being on or after 18 February.

Their families have been informed.
