A FATHER and son were taken to hospital with injuries to their head, face, and arms after being attacked with tree branches while out cycling in Upton.
They were riding their bikes in woodland near Moreton Road at around 6.35pm on Wednesday when they approached by two males who attempted to take their bikes, before attacking them with tree branches.
They are then reported to have fled on foot into nearby woods.
The father and son, aged 46 and 16, were taken to hospital for treatment for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Merseyside Police confirmed that two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were later arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody.
