A MOTORIST has been reported for driving without due care and lane hogging after being followed by North West Motorway Police from Winwick Road to the M62.

When stopped in his Audi at about 8pm on Saturday, the man said he was moving house and his erratic driving was a result of getting impatient with repeated journeys.

A spokesman for North West Motorway Police said: "This driver was followed at speed along Winwick Road out of Warrington, and in joining the east bound carriageway, he decided to use the dedicated lane for the A49 to cut ahead of a motorist in the correct dedicated lane for the motorway.

"He then continued at speed towards Manchester, slowing only for the speed cameras.

"He then decided he'd just sit in lane two tootling along, causing all those motorists he'd just overtook an issue them getting by.

"The driver stated he was moving home and having to go to and from Manchester, so was getting impatient with this repeated journey.

"He has been reported for driving without due care/inconsiderate driving (lane hogging), so hopefully on his next run he'll go a little slower and check his mirrors - especially when the marked traffic car is following him."
