BROTHERS Burgers is opening its Warrington branch next week after a number of delays mainly caused by the pandemic.

The 'dirty burger' restaurant will be opening in Bold Street on Tuesday in the unit where Barnum’s Dance was.

Brothers Darren and Steven Leigh launched the popular brand in St Helens in 2018 and even won North West Takeaway of the Year at the beginning of 2020.

Warrington Guardian:

Their original plan was to expand into Warrington in November before the pair faced a number of setbacks.

Steven said: "So the long hard road that is Brothers Warrington is now complete. It was long and hard because of a few of things we had to sort out with Warrington Borough Council, structural issues and simply the year that we all found ourselves in.

"Working through a pandemic has by no means been an easy task.

Warrington Guardian:

"We have had to work around lockdowns, trades being forced out of action, materials not hitting ports and many other things along with a tough 2020 but an even tougher time frame of five months which was originally set for three months.

"That was disappointing but we still feel it was a very good turn around considering what we had to face along the way.

"We think the finish is pretty impressive when you look at the before and after pictures."

Warrington Guardian:

Due to the third national lockdown, Warringtonians will not get the full Brothers experience until later in the year – but takeaway and delivery will be available from Tuesday.

Steven added: "After the negativity of 2020 and now finding ourselves in another lockdown in 2021, we cannot let the good people of Warrington wait in suspense any longer.

"We have decided to open the store for collection and delivery for now until we get over the very serious situation we all find ourselves in."

Warrington Guardian:

Darren and Steven originally had plans to give burgers away for free on launch day.

Due to the restrictions, that is a little tricky but they plan to honour the offer the best they can.

Steven said: "We wanted to give the people of Warrington the opportunity to enjoy our burgers free on a first-come first-served basis at the store.

Warrington Guardian:

"That unfortunately can’t be the case but we plan to put in place something for orders on the day of opening. All the details will be on our social media.

"We will also have giveaways and keep people up-to-date on what we are doing for good causes which is so important at a time like this.

"Last year we gave away around £6,000 to charity in St Helens and we will be doing the same sort of thing for Warrington.

Warrington Guardian:

"For example, during the first lock down, we created care packages for the most vulnerable and delivered them to more than 60 doors across St Helens.

"We are family lads and like to give a little back as we know how hard it is this day in age and if we can help we will.

Warrington Guardian:

"We look forward to seeing you in the near future and hope once this is over we can have a grand opening day and we can all celebrate."
