Flood warning
GREAT Sankey, Penketh, Winwick, Orford and Whittle Brook are under a flood alert due to rising river levels as a result of persistent rainfall.
Residents are urged to keep an eye on the government's flood information service about the possible flooding of the River Sankey.
A spokesman said: "Our incident response staff are monitoring river levels and will issue further updates where necessary."
