STOCKTON Heath's Kim Jennett performed a rock version of R.E.M's Losing My Religion in front of millions on Saturday.
The former Bridgewater High student appeared on The Voice UK at the weekend which led to viewers taking to social media to say she was 'amazing' and 'totally nailed it'.
Coaches Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, Will.i.am and Tom Jones were also visibly impressed by her powerful vocals during the blind audition but none chose her for their team by spinning around on their chairs.
Speaking after the performance, Kim said: "Yeah, bit gutted. I gave it my all. I’ve just got quite unique voice, maybe that wasn’t what they were looking for."
Can't believe no one turned for Kim. I liked her. Stunning girl too. #thevoiceuk

Further feedback on social media accused the coaches of playing it too safe by declining to take on a rock singer.
#thevoiceuk Kim was amazing!! What’s the fear with taking on a rock artist! Come on!!! For the love of god take a risk judges!!

that rock singer had so much talent and control in her voice, and no one turned probably based on her genre.... #thevoiceuk

Warrington continues to be well represented on the ITV talent show as former St Gregory's student Mo Jamil won the televised competition in 2017. His housemate Max Vickers also reached the semi finals.
From her solo career to her work with blues rockers, Voodoo Blood, Kim has been a part of Warrington's music scene since she was a teenager.
She has performed at the likes of Download Festival but her big moment in the town centre was when she shared a stage with Scouting for Girls at Warrington Music Festival.
