A BIRKENHEAD rugby club collaborated with charity to host a Christmas donation event last Saturday.

Eastham Pavilion, the brand new home of Anselmains Rugby Club partnered with The Salvation Army to host the first Anselmains Donation Day.

From 10am till 4pm, members of the community visited the Pavilion, donating an array of clothing, toys, and tinned goods to help and support families in need over the Christmas period.

Wirral Globe:

Ravi Sibal, club chairman said: "Charity and family are at the heart of Anselmians RUFC, we are keen to move the ethos of the club forward given the significant investment we have made in the club.

"The opportunity to be a hub for the community to come together and give to the Salvation Army and the families who are finding this year especially tough is one that we relish."

All donations provided will go to residents across the Wirral who are most in need.

The community spirit at The Pavillion has led to the introduction of The Social Membership which is designed for those who may not be drawn to rugby but would still like to take advantage of the social occasions on offer.

Members will be able to access the bar and restaurant facilities alongside any social events for £5 a month.

Ravi said: “This year we have been busy working with the local community we have a thriving social committee who are keen to hold Covid safe events going forward.”
