A young girl from New Brighton has released a new Christmas single to help raise money for Chester Zoo’s ‘Save our Zoo’ campaign.

Seven-year-old Eliza and her band ‘Eliza & The Monkey Butts’, formed in April 2020 to raise spirits during lockdown, have released a new Christmas single and music video titled ‘Before Santa Arrives’.

As an avid animal lover, all profits from the sale and streaming of the track will go towards the campaign which helps to raise the £1.6 million needed every month to keep the zoo running.

Eliza told the Globe: “I wanted to cheer up everybody because it's been a difficult year for everyone and Christmas is a time to have fun and look forward to next year. I like singing along to Christmas songs and thought it'd be exciting to make my own.”

With the help from Eliza’s song, Chester Zoo have got a pair of tickets up for grabs which will go to one lucky fan who downloads the track in the run up to Christmas.

The music video was produced by Eliza’s Dad, Andrew Stewart, and features clips of her walking through iconic locations such as New Brighton, the Albert Dock and Liverpool One.

Eliza said: “I loved the Christmas tree in Liverpool One and the lights at the Albert Docks. It was loads of fun! My favourite part was getting all my friends and family involved in the video.”

To enter Eliza's raffle to be in with a chance of winning tickets to Chester Zoo, download the track and send in a screenshot of the order confirmation to Eliza's team through one of the social media channels on her website.
