COMMERCIAL drone pilot James Hanson took this dramatic picture of the scrapyard fire on Regent Road, Kirkdale, this afternoon.
The picture was taken at 4.15pm from Prenton, and shows the plumes of smoke from the fire five miles in the distance.

Fire crews were alerted at 3.35pm, and on arrival found a large fire involving about 100 tonnes of waste metal.
Nearby residents were urged to keep windows and doors closed, and crews now have the fire under control, though firefighting continues and firefighters are likely to retain a presence on scene well into the night.
