Two more coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Wirral hospitals, NHS England has confirmed.

The fatalities occurred on October 9 and 10, taking the total number of patients who have died with Covid-19 at Wirral University Teaching Hospital to 251.

Nationally, a further 68 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 30,662.

Patients were aged between 48 and 98 years old. All except four (aged between 65 and 93) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from October 2 to 13. Their families have been informed.

25 of the fatalities recorded today were in the North West.
