THE man behind a ‘drunken rumpus’ at Warrington Bus Station has been charged by police.

Officers were called to the bus terminal shortly after midday yesterday, Thursday, after being notified of anti-social behaviour.

On arrival, they arrested a 41-year-old man from Manchester who is thought to have been caught urinating in view of members of the public.

He has since been charged with being drunk and disorderly and can be named as Majid Tarar.

He will appear before Warrington Magistrates’ Court later this month.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 12.11pm on Thursday, police were called to reports of a man who was behaving in an anti-social manner at Warrington Bus Station.

“Officers attended the scene and a 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

“Majid Tarar, of Dickinson Road in Manchester, has since been charged with the offence.

“He is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 27.”

In a tweet published shortly after the incident, Warrington Police said: “Following reports of a male causing a drunken rumpus in the area of Warrington Bus Station, we now have a male with us in the cells for alleged drunk and disorderly behaviour.

“He is also alleged to have urinated in full view of the public nearby.”
