A SCHOOLGIRL who had her long hair cut for a local charity shop is doing it all again for the same cause - and needs your support.

Aleesa Pulford, 12, from Oxton will be raising funds to help keep the Green Community Shop and Centre open.

The hair will also be donated to The Little Princess Trust which makes wigs for little children who lose or have no hair because they are ill.

Back in 2016, when she was eight, Aleesa raised £1,000 by getting her waist length hair cut into a bob, to keep the Green Community Shop and Centre open.

Aleesa after her hair was cut for charity in 2016

Described as a local lifeline for many Oxton residents it features a shop selling very affordable second hand clothes, books, household items, dvds and games, toys, art, toiletries and often has free food, blankets, hats and scarves for those in need.

There is also a back room used for groups such as Meditation; The Reader reading groups, Sew and Grow, Knit and Natter, arts and crafts and other organisations to hold meetings.

On the other side is a community room and play area.

It is open 9.30-5pm Monday to Friday at the moment with the intention of regular Saturdays again soon.

Unfortunately due to current restrictions, its community spaces can't open, but the shop is open for business and desperately needs customers.

Its staff are doing everything to fundraise.

Aleesa will have her hair cut even shorter this time, to raise vital funds.

Her hair is currently half way down her back and she's getting it cropped into a pixie cut above her ears and asking you to sponsor her to raise money for a fantastic cause!

She: "I was really surprised by how much money I raised last time, I never thought I would be able to get so much.

"People were really kind and generous.

"I know money is tight for a lot of people and families at the moment and you may not be able to donate as much, but every little helps so anything at all you can spare will mean a lot to our community and hopefully we can keep the Green Shop open.

"I hope the Little Princess Trust make a lovely wig for a child without hair.

"Thank you"
