A young woman from Wirral has her eyes set on becoming Miss England, but first she needs your help to win her regional heat.

18-year-old Poppy Gerrard from Meols is no stranger to the limelight already. She was part of the dance group Mersey Girls, that reached the finals of Britain's Got Talent in 2017.

Poppy has since gone on to do acting and modelling and recently left West Kirby Grammar School with four A star A-Levels. She also previously participated in the Wirral, ‘ This girl can’ campaign, helping to promote young women to pursue sports.

Wirral Globe:

To reach the Miss England final, she must first prevail from the Liverpool City Region heat final.

Poppy told the Globe: "I entered the Miss Liverpool competition mainly for the reason of wanting to inspire other young women.

"I love to dance, act and model and so this competition seemed like a perfect opportunity to provide me with a platform to help others.

"I have so far enjoyed taking part in two canal cleans in my local area as part of the competition and there will be more charity work to come throughout the contest.

"To win Miss Liverpool would be such an incredible achievement as it would be an honour to represent my local area in the Miss England finals.

Wirral Globe:

"It would mean the world to be able to progress my modelling career whilst being able to help others and use my platform in a positive way, something I have tried to do in the past already."
