The collision involving an HGV and a pedestrian occurred on the A41 Whitchurch Road in Chowley at around 4.40am on Friday, August 7.

Officers attended the scene and discovered that the pedestrian, a woman in her 40s from the Chester area, had sustained serious injuries.

Sadly, she died at the scene.

The driver of the HGV, a 49-year-old man from Beechwood, Merseyside, is not believed to have sustained any injuries as a result of the collision.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing.
