A WANTED man from Bradford who was attempting to board a flight at Manchester Airport has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
The 32-year-old was arrested on Sunday morning, after it was flagged up on the system that he was wanted, as he tried to get on a plane.
Airport staff alerted police, who then apprehended the man on suspicion of a rape that took place in Bradford.
A spokesperson from West Yorkshire Police said: "Police in Bradford were called at 11:27am, on Sunday 2 August, from staff at Manchester Airport, alerting us to a man who was wanted for an offence in Bradford attempting to board a flight.
"Officers attended the airport and arrested a 32-year-old man from Bradford on suspicion of rape and he was taken to custody in Bradford and interviewed.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
In a tweet from a West Yorkshire Police officer, known on Twitter as SO 7298 Mohammed, the incident was described as a "fantastic arrest":
