NO further deaths from coronavirus have been recorded at Wirral hospitals, NHS England has confirmed today.

It means the total number of people who have passed away in Wirral University Teaching Hospital after testing positive for the virus since the pandemic began continues to remain at 238.

There has been no increase in more than three weeks.

Nationally, a further 12 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,329.

An NHS England statement read: "Patients were aged between 40 and 96 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.

"Their families have been informed."
