PARTS of the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton will reopen to the public later this week as lockdown continues to ease.

In line with public health guidelines, the venue will open its doors from Friday.

The box office is currently closed and there are no performances schedule until further notice.

However, the venue's Blue Lounge will offer floor to ceiling views of the River Mersey, retractable patio doors, air conditioning, toilets and an area for visitors to eat safely.

The newly-updated Floral Café will be open menu with hot food, sandwiches, snacks, and pastries available as part of the government’s 'Eat out to help out' scheme.

Opening hours will be 10am-5pm, Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays.

The new takeaway service will be available from the ground floor of the venue.

A takeaway menu will be available to view on the Floral Pavilion's website or you can scan the QR code on the posters outside of the building to check the menu before ordering. Customers using the takeaway service must wear a face covering while in the venue.

Public toilet facilities will be available to the public and users of the venue, with a regular cleaning operation in place.

There are also plans to use the venue to access to other council services such as fitness classes, library provision and much more.

Cllr Pat Hackett, leader of the council said: "Reopening the Floral Pavilion will help support the local economy and demand for facilities in the New Brighton area.

“To make sure we can keep these facilities open, we need residents to work with us by following the latest guidance from government as well as the measures we’ve put in place inside the building.

"If anyone is showing symptoms associated with COVID-19 or has been in contact with anyone who has symptoms, please self-isolate and follow the latest government guidance."

Signage about social distancing and handwashing have been installed around the building and additional hygiene procedures have been put in place.
