A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious leg injuries following a collision with a vehicle on the A41 in Eastham.
Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to the scene shortly before 12:30 this afternoon.
The incident occurred on the A41/New Chester Road near Starbuck's coffee shop in Eastham, close to the Vauxhall roundabout.
The collision involved a Triumph motorbike and Land Rover. The rider, reported by Merseyside Police as a man in his 30s, sustained serious injuries to both legs and has been taken to hospital. Police are still at the scene, close to Junction 5 of the M53.
It is understood that although serious, the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The stretch of road has now been been reopened to traffic, but Police are still at the scene.
