TWO drivers were given licence points after leaving their cars on prohibited parking lines.
Officers spotted an Audi and van both parked on zig zags at a busy pedestrian crossing on Charminster Road, which bans any drivers from parking there.
While the driver of the Audi was at a cash point, the van driver was collecting a takeaway nearby.
In a statement online, Dorset Police said: "There is no excuse to parking on zig zags, they are there for a reason.
"We observed both vehicles for three minutes where the crossing was used three times in that time.
"Do people not understand the dangers of parking on the zig zags? The owner of the white van said “isn’t this a traffic warden issue”."
They each received a ticket for three points and a £100 fine.
