Railway passengers are being advised to avoid leaving their vehicles at Spital station after travellers took over the station car park.
At least 20 touring vehicles are currently congregated at the Wirral Line station parking area, although reports elsewhere suggest that there may be as many as 50 vehicles on the site.
The travellers have been in situ since the early hours of Wednesday morning (July 8) and although some railusers continued to use the car par up until yesterday, it is now solely occupied by the traveller vehicles.
A spokesperson for Merseyrail told the Globe: "We are currently following all relevant procedures to handle the situation at Spital station car park as swiftly as possible.
"In the meantime we advise customers to drive to a nearby station if they require car parking facilities."
