FIREFIGHTERS were called out after black smoke was seen in an area of Ellesmere Port late at night.
At about 10pm two crews responded to reports of black smoke in the Rossmore Road East area of the town.
On arrival crews found a car well alight.
A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire in the open.
They then damped the vehicle down to make it safe.
Firefighters were in attendance for about an hour.
