THE carnival may have been cancelled but Saturday was still a day for celebration in Croft.

July 4 should have been Croft Carnival Day, but with no floats and no parade and no marvellous show, music or gatherings, Croft village has been putting out its traditional scarecrows to mark the celebration instead.

Croft WI made its ‘T 4 1’ scarecrow which was proudly placed outside Croft Memorial Hall in the village to salute all those who have self isolated, social distanced and volunteered during the pandemic.

It included a rainbow of thanks to the NHS and all those who have worked tirelessly to keep communities going.
