A ROAD in Cheshire was closed while firefighters worked to rescue a woman who had fallen three metres from a wall onto a steep embankment.
Two crews were called out, as well as a rope rescue unit following the incident just before 9pm last night (Sunday, July 5).
On arrival crews discovered that the casualty was about three metres down a steep embankment in Castle Street, Northwich.
She was assessed by paramedics before a rope rescue unit from Lymm used specialist equipment to lift the casualty up from the embankment onto safe ground.
The woman was then taken to hospital in an ambulance.
Chester Way leading to Chester Road was closed by the police while emergency services worked at the scene.
Firefighters were in attendance for about an hour and 45 minutes.
