A CARE home in Sale has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Residents and team members at Care UK’s Oakfield Croft, on Oakfield, have sent out a virtual thank-you, to express their gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Sale over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

The home was inundated with support, receiving meals and treats from Thyme & Season Catering and neighbours, touching cards from pupils at Forest Park Preparatory School, as well as knitted hearts and poems from Silk Elephant, all created by volunteers aged seven to 92.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities, team members at Oakfield Croft have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Daniel Cole, home manager at Oakfield Croft, said: “We want to thank everyone in Sale for their continued kindness throughout this challenging time.

“Here at Oakfield Croft, we play an active role in our community, and it’s been overwhelming to see how many people have reached out to support us in the last couple of months.

“Both residents and team members are looking forward to welcoming back local people into Oakfield Croft to say thank you when we are able.”

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new care home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
