THE Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has recorded three new coronavirus deaths in the latest 24-hour reporting period, according to NHS England data.
Figures released this afternoon (June 6) show that, as of 5pm yesterday, the number of deaths of patients testing positive for the virus was 184.
The trust covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port hospital sites.
The Cheshire hospital death toll now stands at 614 – a daily increase of four.
The Mid Cheshire Hospitals Trust recorded one more death, while the Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and In the East Cheshire NHS Trust did not record any deaths in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
The Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded the most deaths with 187, followed by the Countess (184), Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (124) and East Cheshire NHS Trust (119).
Across England, a further 75 people – down from 123 yesterday – who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 27,359.
Patients were aged between 43 and 100 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.
Today, 19 deaths are reported with no positive COVID-19 test result.
