FLY-TIPPERS have targeted a Wirral cemetery again - dumping rubbish near graves.

The picture, which was sent to Globe, by a reader show the mess that has been discarded in Town Lane cemetery, Bebington over the weekend.

Also among the pile of household rubbish is a settee, bags of rubbish and a broken drawer.

The picture has been forwarded to Wirral Council for comment.

The area has been targeted many times in recent years.

The reader, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Globe: "It's a real shame to see people have acted in this selfish manner.

"The Romanian community that have taken over the church go to great lengths to keep the place looking nice and someone has the disrespect to do this."

A council spokesperson said: "This is another appalling act of environmental vandalism and an affront to people visiting the cemetery.

"The rubbish will be cleared and while doing that we will be looking for evidence to see if there is anything that might help identify who was responsible so we can take enforcement action.

"If anyone has any information they think could help us to that end, please get in touch using our online form – http://www.wirral.gov.uk/environmental-problems/street-care-and-cleaning/fly-tipping."
