The beach on the north Wirral coast was said to be ‘very busy’ despite the flooding tide, and the Hoylake hovercraft travelled along the shoreline to ensure that everyone using the beach was safe.
RNLI crews spoke to several people and advised them about the incoming tide and safe routes to the shore.
Hoylake RNLI hovercraft was called out again to Leasowe Bay at 4.36pm to reports of a person up to their neck in water.
On arrival, the person was out of the water and coastguard officers established that they were an experienced swimmer and in no danger, although the call out was made with good intent.
