A WIRRAL-born artist is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the RNLI after producing a special series of lifeboat images.

Sean Chambers plans to raise more than £3,000 from the sale of limited edition prints before culminating in a final exhibition of the work, possibly at the RNLI's headquarters in Poole.

A former pupil at Plessington High School, Sean studied foundation art course at Wirral Metropolitan College's long-since demolished campus in Borough Road, Birkenhead and now lives in Wales.

Sean told the Globe: "For the sixth illustration in the series I've decided to return to Merseyside and include New Brighton's former Hovercraft.

"I'm hoping that this rarer craft will add something to the series which has so far been historical boats of various classes.

"The stationary company Uniball/Posca have been incredibly supportive of my work and supplied me with much needed materials to see this project through."

Prints will be available to pre-order from schambersillustration@gmail.com or facebook page https://www.facebook.com/seancillustration

Each print sold will raise £5 for the RNLI.
