A MOTORIST is in hospital with non life-threatening injuries following a crash inolving his vehicle and a police car.
The incident is reported to have happened at 3.50pm this afternoon on Duke Street in Birkenhead, travelling towards Cleveland Street.
Three police officers were also treated at the scene for injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said tonight: "There is also some damage to street furniture that the council are aware with.
"Road closures remain in place between Duke St and Corporation Rd as well as Old Bidston Rd and Duke St.
"Avoid the area and remember to only make essential journeys if completely necessary.
