VANDALS smashed a police car's windscreen as officers prepared to head out on an emergency call-out in the early hours of this morning.
The vehice was parked up outside Upton police station as officers completed paperwork before heading out.
Sharing the news on its Facebook page, Merseyside Police Contact Centre said: "Dispatched to an emergency 999 call only to come out and find the windscreen had been smashed preventing officers from attending the emergency and taking a car off the road for the rest of the shift."
A witness appeal has been launched.
