A kind-hearted couple have given their neighbours a pleasant surprise by delivering boxes of Easter eggs to families in their surrounding streets.

The pair, known only as Lui and Marian circulated a letter to a number of residential roads in Bebington, advising of their intentions.

The letter states that the couple wanted to: "spread a little cheer during these unprecedented dark times we are going through."

The idea behind the gesture was for children to receive eggs on their doorstep from the Easter Bunny.

Letters were left on the doorsteps of houses where they knew families lived or had rainbows displayed in their windows.

Having advised that they would deliver Easter Eggs on Good Friday, the couple made good on their promise, distributing the chocolate treats to 40 houses in the area around where they live.

Appreciative neighbour Stuart Williams said: "There are so many cool things happening during this lockdown."
