One further person who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Wirral has died, brining the total number of deaths to 47.
NHS England have confirmed that there have been 765 more confirmed deaths across the country in the last 24 hours. This means that there is now 7,248 reported deaths in hospitals in England.
Patients were aged between 24 and 103 years old. 43 of the 765 patients (aged between 33 and 99 years old) had no known underlying health condition.
The Wirral death recorded in today's figures occurred on April 1, meaning that as it stands there have been no confimred deaths since April 7, but as is the case with the solitary person recorded today, the recording of deaths can in some cases take a number of days to filter through.
The North West recorded 77 deaths in the past 24 hours - the second lowest total by region in the country - but London was hit hardest, with 213.
Their families have been informed.
