THE Royal Bolton Hospital is asking people not to deliver food, drink and other goods to ensure social distancing is followed to help avoid the spread of coronavirus
The hospital trust has extended its gratitude for the "kind gifts and donations" that have been dropped off but is working to keep the site as safe as possible.
Instead of leaving items there, the trust said people can contact other good causes to check if they would like the goods.
A hospital spokesman said: "We are so truly grateful for all the support and well wishes our communities and local businesses have been giving us.
"However, can we ask that people don’t come to the Royal Bolton Hospital to deliver food, drink or other goods.
"We really appreciate the thought behind the kind gifts and donations we’ve been receiving but with social distancing we are trying to keep the site as safe as possible for our staff and would encourage you to stay at home for your safety.
"We work with many other organisations who may be better able to make use of donations to help our wider community who may be struggling.
"Please try our friends at Urban Outreach Bolton on 01204 385848 or Bolton at Home on 01204 328000.
"Many thanks."
