NHS England has confirmed a further 403 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus have died, with seven recorded in Wirral.
The figures bring the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 4,897.
They were recorded between April 1 and 5.
The patients were aged between 35 and 106 years old. Fifteen of those 403, aged between 52 and 94 years old, had no known underlying health condition. Their families have been informed.
The Wirral deaths were recorded between April 1 and 3, bringing the total number of fatalities from the virus in the borough, so far, to 29.
