GLOBE reader Peter Lovatt has sent in these pictures of some public venues that have been closed under the Prime Minister's measures aimed at stemming the spread of coronavirus.
Yesterday, Boris Johnson announced that all pubs, cafes and restaurants would be closed temporarily.
The closure came into effect at midnight.
All public business such as cinemas, theatres, leisure centres and gyms have followed suit.
Peter Lovatt's pictures show closed signs at Wetherspoons and the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton.
In his daily press briefing, the Prime Minister reiterated the government's commitment to turning the tide on the COVID-19 pandemic but rammed home the importance of following the guidance put in place and said that the further measures were necessary to allow the NHS to get on top of the virus.
