A LAND of adventure for families – free from noisy rides and technology – is opening in Cheshire in May.
The £5million Bewilderwood has been in development for three years and will feature treehouses, wobbly wires (zip wires), slippery slopes and giant wooden play structures, such as the broken bridge, in a 70-acre woodland park.
Based on the Bewilderwood book series by Tom Blofeld, the first site was opened in Norfolk 13 years ago.
Since the park has won a host of awards, and the concept of a second park in south Cheshire has been brought to life in Malpas. The launch date is Saturday, May 23.
A spokesman said: “The magical adventure park allows visitors to run wild in a beautiful forest setting.
“The whole family can spend hours running, whizzing and clambering on the sustainable wooden structures, from aerial ropewalks to climbing walls, balancing logs and muddled mazes.
“The full day attraction is home to more than 10 giant structures, including the magnificent sky maze, reaching 8m into the treetops.”
There will also be facepainting and family activities such as interactive storytelling shows and crafting sessions included in the ticket price and parking is free.
Ticket prices are based on height with those under 92cm going for free. Visit bewilderwood.co.uk
