Relegation-threatened Tranmere boosted their survival hopes with a 2-1 win against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday evening.
Micky Mellon's side came into the match seeking a third straight victory and they were 2-0 up at the interval after Morgan Ferrier headed in the opener in the 38th minute and James Vaughan added a second just before half-time.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall pulled a goal back after the break - but 21st-placed Rovers held out for a crucial victory which moves them to within three points of AFC Wimbledon, who have played a match more.
Having clocked up three away wins on the trot, Tranmere will now play Lincoln City at Prenton Park on Saturday with high hopes of gaining a result that could move them level with the Dons, if other results go their way.
