TWO men tried to lure a teenage girl into their car in Padgate yesterday evening.

The black vehicle pulled up alongside the 17-year-old as she was walking home from work along Padgate Lane shortly after 5.30pm on Monday, February 17.

One of the two white males inside the car, which stopped near to Padgate Tennis and Bowling Club, then wound down his window and told the girl to get in.

She punched the man in the face, and the pair drove off in the direction of Padgate Station.

Officers’ enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “On Monday, February 17, police were notified of an incident on Padgate Lane.

“At around 5.40pm that day, a black car pulled up alongside a 17-year-old girl from the town and one of the two white men inside wound down his window and told her to get in the vehicle.

“She punched him in the face, and the car then drove off towards Padgate Station.

“Enquiries in relation to the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.”
