DRAMATIC footage shows the moment New Brighton lifeboat volunteers rescued a man stranded in flood water near Fort Perch Rock earlier this afternoon.
The man had got into difficulty near near the historic building, pinned against railings due to the high tide and strong winds.
New Brighton volunteers were already on station due to the poor weather and on sighting the male, waded out to free him from the railings and escort him back to the safety of the promenade.
The male was handed over to awaiting emergency services where he was checked over as a precaution.
Video footage of the rescue was filmed by Adam Potter, who passed it to the RNLI to use in publication.
Ian Thornton, lifeboat operations manager, New Brighton Lifeboat said: "During this adverse weather we urge people to check local weather warnings before travelling and to stay a safe distance from the shore as the sea can be unpredictable."
