The Wirral peninsula has endured a hammering on Sunday at the hands of Storm Ciara, with gusts of up to 80mph hitting the most exposed coastal areas.

Globe readers have been sending their photographs in and despite the treacherous conditions have managed to capture a number of stunning images as you can see from our gallery.

One reader even managed to get some video footage that shows the severity of the tidal conditions in New Brighton.

It is hoped that the worst of the storm is now behind us, but if you caught something spectacular on camera, please send it to globe.editorial@wirral-globe.co.uk and we will add it to our gallery.
