AN 80-year-old motorist has died in hospital following a two-car crash in Wallasey this afternoon.
At around 12pm, a silver Volkswagen Polo being driven at slow speed, collided with a blue BMW on Alderley Road.
The 80-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Polo - who has been named by police as Peter Fogg from Wirral - was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
It is believed that he suffered a medical episode whilst at the wheel of his Volkswagen Polo.
Alderley Road and part of nearby Poulton Road were closed both ways to motorists as part of the investigation and have now reopened.
