TRANMERE Rovers have signed midfielder Luke McCullough until the end of the season.

The Northern Irishman becomes Micky Mellon's fourth recruit, with Peter Clarke, Alex Woodyard and James Vaughan all coming into the club this month.

He was previously on non-contract terms at Rovers after recovering and training at The Campus following a serious knee injury that he sustained in the 3-0 win against Carlisle United last March, while he was on loan from Doncaster Rovers.

He played 37 times in Rovers' promotion-winning campaign from Sky Bet League Two last term.

And having re-joined the set-up at Prenton Park earlier in January, McCullough has since made one appearance which came against Leicester City U21s in the Leasing.com Trophy.

On his new contract, Luke said: "It feels brilliant to get it done.

"It's been a tough six or seven months but now I can fully concentrate on helping the team.

"I felt good when I played against Leicester so hopefully I can continue to get some more games under my belt and help the team wherever I can."

Luke will be available for selection when Rovers travel to Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon.
