An award-winning celebrity chef will host a South Wirral food festival this weekend.

Paul Askew will pull the strings at Gordale Garden and Home Centre in Burton on February 1 & 2 as the event celebrates it's fourth year running.

Askew and Michelin-star guest chef, Steven Doherty team up for two lively and entertaining demonstration sessions per day (1pm & 3pm).

Attendees will be able to see first hand how they effortlessly rustle up restaurant-standard dishes for audience tasting.

Cooking tips, food provenance, tastings and anecdotes will be in abundance to entertain and help punters re-create impressive dishes at home.

There will also be over 30 purveyors of artisan produce in the popular Farmers’ Market. The event is free to attend.

Paul Askew is a North West Food Champion, Chairman of Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and The Liverpool Restaurant Association.

Steven Doherty is the former head chef at Michel Roux’s La Gavroche and pioneer of the UK’s gastro pub revolution.
