UPDATE: Just before 11am police tweeted that the sliproad will need to be closed while the HGV is recovered.

They said: "The jack knifed lorry will need to be recovered by heavy wrecker from the bridge. This will require a full closure of the M56 EB at J15 while this is taking place. We will update when this is about to happen."

 

A JACKKNIFED lorry has caused the entry sliproad to be closed at Junction 15 of the M56 this morning (Wednesday, January 8).

There are not said to be any injuries and two lanes are open running past the accident on the eastbound carriageway.

North West Motorway Police tweeted: "RTC J15 M56 EB entry slip from the M53 is closed due to a jack knifed HGV. Two lanes are running past the incident on the main carriageway. No injuries."
