A BUCKET collection organised by Neston and District Christian Aid Committee has raised £509.8p.

It took place at Gordale Garden Centre on December 19.

Eileen Ward, treasurer, said: "We found Gordale’s customers very friendly and generous.

"The money has gone to help vulnerable people." 

Volunteers also collected and helped pack bags at Sainsbury’s in Neston. The money will be counted by Sainsbury’s and the amount will be known in due course.

Civic Society

KEN Pye will talk about Curious Tales of Wirral as Neston Civic Society's guest this Thursday.

Taking place at the United Reformed Church Hall, Moorside Lane, Neston, the session starts at 7.30pm.

Ken has talked to the society before, most recently on New Brighton, and is described as a highly entertaining and informative speaker.

Book sale

NESTON and District Christian Aid Committee have organised a book sale that will take place a week on Friday, January 17.

It will be held at the Teapot Room in Neston Methodist Church, Park Street, Neston that day from 10.30am-12.30pm.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available.
