PORT cadets did their bit to help their local community this Christmas by helping shoppers at the Marks & Spencer’s at Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port to pack their shopping bags

Customers were kind to give the members of the1074 (Ellesmere Port) Squadron donations in thanks for their efforts.

These funds funds to aid the squadron in their activities for 2020.

The cadets and staff were able to speak to the local people of Ellesmere Port which included several former members and their relatives of the various branches of our Armed Forces, including the Royal Air Force who took the time to speak regarding their time in uniform as well as making donations to the squadron.

Events of this type give the Air Cadets an excellent opportunity to help the people of their local communities and show them on a personal basis what it means to be a part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets with the Air Training Corps having a long history of involvement with their local businesses in order to raise money for charities and other organisations.

The cadets received a great deal of thanks for their help and praise for their standard of dress and behaviour from the customers and staff during the day and raised nearly £800 towards cadet activities taking place in 2020.

Port cadets host annual Christmas carol service

The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is open to all young people ages 12 (Year 8) to 18 and offers the opportunity for Cadets to experience many areas including Flying, Gliding, Target Shooting, Leadership, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, visits and camps to active RAF Stations across Europe and much more.
