A SWIMMING pool at the city's Northgate Arena will be closed until the New Year.
The leisure pool was closed on Monday, November 25 to allow maintenance work and was expected to open again yesterday (Sunday, December 22). However, the work is taking longer than expected meaning the pool will now not re-open until January 2.
Work on the flume in the pool will take longer to complete with a completion date in 2020 yet to be confirmed.
A statement on the Northgate Arena's Facebook page says: "We’ve had to give the leisure pool some extra TLC and carry out a bit more maintenance work than planned, so sadly we won’t be re-opening now until Thursday 2 January.
"Unfortunately, the works on the pool flume hasn’t quite finished and this won’t be open until later in the New Year.
"Thanks for your patience and see you all in the New Year!"
