AN award-winning beauty training college in Birkenhead has opened its doors to local businesses and students.

The VTCT accredited North West Training Vocational College, based at 12 Edgerton Court on Tower Road in Birkenhead, opened its doors to its supporters on Sunday, December 1.

Wirral Globe:

Opened by Danielle Wilcock and Diane Senogles, the centre offers courses in beauty, lashes and nail training in a realistic work environment.

Danielle told the Globe: "Diane and I have 34 years of experience between us but we had opened a training centre in Argyle Industrial Estate and held that for just under three years before moving to this site.

"It took us eight weeks to turn this warehouse into a realistic workplace training centre.

Wirral Globe:

"This is a VTCT approved centre, and we offer accredited training. Our students can benefit from an advanced learner loan, or through Pay Later.

"We also offer beauty, nails, make up and advanced training in laser and advanced beauty therapy, needling and chemical peeling.

"Diane, my business partner, is the Glitterbelles Merseyside trainer and she also does St Tropes and Next Gen.

Wirral Globe:

"This is great a place for many people to experience training in a workplace setting.

"We take students aged 16 and over as they can't secure public liability insurance until after 16.

"We can train students from 16 to 70."

Wirral Globe:

During the open weekend, the college entertained guests with a saxophone player, DJ and showed guests around the extensive space complete with treatment rooms and classrooms.

So what's next for the centre?

Wirral Globe:

Danielle added: "We're trying to find links in offering Level 1 and Level 2 accredited courses and just expanding our space here, employing more staff and going forward.

"I'm hoping once people see the facilities, they will sign up and start!"
